In this moment I’m absolutely happy. My family and my parents are at my parents’ new lake cabin and I’m listening to my dad, my two sons and my husband play the card game Pitch (our family’s favorite game) and my youngest son is learning the game for his first time. As me and my dad’s song Brown Eyed Girl plays in the background, I can hear my dad instructing my son just as he did with me when I was young.

This cabin may be new, and it’s definitely winter here in Montana right now, but it’s already filled with wonderful memories. I’m deliriously happy. Life is good.
